BOBBY ALLEN A REPEATER Triumphs Over Panaman and Verity in Principal Contest at Dufferin Park. TORONTO, Ont., September 8. Although hard pressed during the final drive through the stretch L. T. Whitehills Bobby Allen retained his advantage over Panaman and Verity and captured the handicap, the fifth and feature race of the Toronto Driving" Clubs card at Dufferin Park this afternoon. Betsinda and Ring were the choices, but the latter, a bad post actor, was away too poorly to cut any figure in the running. Betsinda retired early from the struggle. Frank Garrett saddled two winners, Flying Ford for M. Le Roy in the second and Topmost for his own account in the third. Both scored by comfortable margins after leading practically throughout. The closest finish of the day came with the running of the fourth, in which Col. Murphy just got up to beat Diocletian in the final stride. Favorites again won a majority of the races, four being successful. Bond never left the result of the sixth race in serious doubt. The concluding dash found Flibber-tygibbet in a soft spot and he drew away into a commanding lead after going the first half mile. Judge Norman Macfarlane was a visitor here today. He is en route to Montreal for the Dorval meeting. Condition books for the eleven-day meeting opening at New Kensington, Pa., on Tuesday next were distributed among the horsemen here today by R. E. Harding. He reports that ten owners have signified their intention of shipping to that point. Jockey J. Smith escaped injury when he vas unseated from Puff Ball during the first eighth of the second race. By order of the judges the entry of Right Angle will be refused here, owing to his bad actions at the post. The suspension for rough riding against jockeys Chappell and McAlaney have been lifted and they will resume riding tomorrow. Trainer Larry Daly reports that he was forced to destroy the three-year-old Rigodon before leaving Montreal, as the result of having been severely kicked by Carrie Baker. The filly Razon is on the shelf as a result of a kick from the same filly at the recent Delorimier Park meeting. Condition books for the winter meeting at Havana, Cuba, were distributed by Charles Henry here today. The meeting is scheduled to open November 30 and continue until March 25, 1923. Jockey S. Wida was among those riders who were considered undesirables and he was refused permission to ride at this meeting.
