BULLION was saved close up to the early pacemakers and, racing into the lead after being well into the homestretch, drew away to win easing up. QUANAH, always a forward contender, easily held the others safe. HARRY BURGOYNE was shuffled back on the far turn, but closed up gamely when clear and finished fast THORNY WAY closed a gap and finished with a rush. Won cantering; second and third driving. FLAG OF TRUCE had to be hard ridden in the early running, but caught the leader on the last turn and, racing into a long lead, was only cantering at the end. BANNER BEARER showed a high flight of early speed and made the pace fast, but gave way when the winner challenged. BUCKWHEAT raced gamely and easily disposed of the others. JIGSTEP had no mishaps. FAIR GAIN raced forwardly from the start and disposed of REDSTONE and STOTO, but was forced to his best to outstay ROCKY MOUNTAIN. The latter set a fast early pace and moved up rapidly in the stretch, but swerved repeatedly after getting on even terms with the winner. STOTO went to the front with a rush on the last turn and drew clear, but tired in the last eighth. COTE DOR finished well. MARTIN A. NOONAN ran one of his bad races. The latter also began slowly and raced into the lead near the finish, but could not withstand the winner.
