PETER BROWN set an excellent pace for the first half-mile and outfinished HOMESTRETCH in the final drive. The latter closed a big gap and finished gamely. OCORRA was hard-ridden all the way. RORK raced wide throughout. ROCK SALT raced in the softest going from the start and quit badly in the final quarter. VENIZELOS raced in the best going all the way and finished gamely. HIGH SPEED raced in close pursuit of the leader from the start and took the lead while rounding the last turn, but tired badly in the stretch. MARY AGNES S. finished fast. Won easily; second and third driving.- TUFTEIt followed the leaders in the early running under slight restraint and, moving up gamely on the outside while rounding the last turn, took the lead and retained his advantage to the end. NOSE DIVE raced in close pursuit of the leader in the early running and was shuffled back on the stretch turn, but slipped through on the inside in the last eighth and outstayed COSTIGAN in the final drive. The latter was well ridden and, gaining steadily while racing on the extreme outside, finished gamely. DUNCKCAI tired after making a menacing challenge when entering the stretch. PURITY was prominent all the way and passed ROCK BOTTOM in the final eighth, but ired in the final drive. FULLON lacked early speed, but finished fastest of all.
