EURYTHMIC BACK TO FORM Scores Third Successive Victory in Memsie Stakes at Australian Course in Fast Time. SYDNEY, N. S. W., September 0. Euryth-mic, the five-year-old son of Eudorus Bob Cherry, which early in March passed Carbine as the Australian money-winning champion, and which occupies the same comparative niche in the affections of Australian race-goers that Exterminator does in the United States, scored a decisive come-back to his old form, which has shattered the charges of decadence inspired by his two defeats at Randwick. Over the Caulfield course here the old warrior scored by three parts of a length in the Memsie Stakes yesterday, covering the mile and an eighth in 1:55, or one second slower than his race record of last year. His brilliant victory was so decisive that once again his high merit is universally recognized. The score also marks his third successive victory in the Memsie Stakes. F. Dempsey rode him each time. All interest centered on the Memsie Stakes, which featured the card. There was some doubt as to Eurythmics being up to his best form, and when the betting opened he touched 2 to 1. He hardened to 5 to 4 on and started an even-money favorite. Purser, Sister Olive and Stare were the next choices in the wagering in the order named. Eurythmic was the first to begin and led for nearly an eighth, when he dropped back and at the top of the hill was ahead of only two horses. Purser was the last at this point. Sister Olive led Salatis and Stare down the railway side, but the latter took the lead at the turn. Eurythmic then came with a rush next the inner mil from the half-mile post to the turn, where he was forced to go around the others. Salatis and Sister Olive were first into the straightaway. Eurythmic, when straightened out for the run home, came again and was in front at the distance to score by three parts of a length from Purser. The latter finished fast. Salatis oulgamed Stare for third place. Eurythmics next race is the October Stakes, at the Flemington course. His record up to date is 70,330 in winnings. He has finished first twenty-nine times, has run one dead heat and has been second or third our times out of forty starts.
