DICKS DAUGHTER raced DRIFTWOOD into defeat in the early running and, taking a clear Iead. saved ground when entering the stretch and, under hard riding, outfinished BLUE AND GOLD at the end. BLUE AND GOLD began somewhat slowly, but moved up rapidly after entering the stretch but tired slightly in the final drive. BESSIE LEIGHTON saved ground on the turn and came fast through j the stretch under a weak ride. DRIFTWOOD quit after setting a fast early pace. IRKA.?1. SECOND RACE About 3-4 Mile. The latter finished with a belated rush. rOLYTHIA was pulled up at the start and lacked early speed, but closed a great gap with a rush on the extreme outside in the final eighth. CIRRUS was badly outrun for the first half mile, hut gained rapidly when well into the stretch and, wearing the leaders down in the final seventy yards, won going away. MARY PATRICIA rushed into the lead on the last turn, but was much used in racing CHESTERBROOK into defeat and tired badly. CHESTERBROOK set the early pace and was a game contender all the way. PRINCE JAMES followed the two leaders under slight restraint until in the final quarter, then came fust on the outride when called on and, passing MAD HATTER after a mild drive, won going away. MAD HATTER raced la close pursuit of the early leader and took the lead while rounding the last turn, but tired when challenged by the winner. STELLA MARIS rushed into the lead and showed excellent speed in pacemaking, but could not withstand the winners challenge. FULLON moved up fast while rounding the last turn, but was forced out and lost ground, then closed up fast nnd finished gamely. HEREMON saved ground on the turns, but could not improve her position.
