LISTEN DEARIE rushed into an easy lead in the first quarter and, setting a great pace, drew away in the stretch and won in a canter. EL DORADO raced in nearest pursuit, but had to be hard ridden to withstand ROMPING HOMES challenge. The latter raced well and made a fast finish. PAY DEAR closed a big gap from a slow beginning. JOHN AUSTIN fell at the twelfth jump, VOX POPULI II. at the ninth, FRANK It. at the sixth and DEBADOU at the second, while OVERMATCH lost his rider at the eleventh. SUNNYLAND was taken up at the start and, racing very wide on the first turn, was then rushed to the front, but tired in the stretcli drive. DARK HILL ran well to the stretch. OUI OUI began slowly and was forced wide on the first turn, but worked her way up on the outside to the far turn, where she saved ground, then came fast through the homestretch next to the inside rail and got up to win in the last stride. GENERAL THATCHER was much used in forcing the pace and tired when called on in the last sixteenth, but finished gamely and ran a good race. SOLISA was a forward contender all the way and made a fast and game finish. BRIGHT TOMORROW ran well and finished close up. VIGIL closed a gap. CYCLOPS set a fast pace to the last eighth and tired. HOW FAIR was away badly and running fast at the end. POW WOW ran well. PEDDLER began slowly, but closed up iu resolute fashion when settled in his stride. SYLVAN SPRING tired near the end. RED WREATH could never get up.
