JOCKEYS RIDING AT TIJUANA List of Riders Licensed to Accept Mounts at the Far Western Track. TIJUANA, Mexico, December 12. Veterans of the saddle who have been acclaimed stars of many race courses and youths who aspira to fame through the riding of thoroughbreds are included in the list of licensed jockeys at the Tijuana meeting, which opened November 30 under the direction of J. "V. Coffroth. Judge Francis Nelson, who passed on these I licenses, declares that Tijuana will have a formidable band of riders this year and that j the competition to be the leading reinsman .during the Tijuana meeting will be unusually i keen. An increase in the jockey fees this year has led to a better class of riders being i attracted to the course. It is interesting to note that M. Fator, whose contract is held by Stuart Polk, is now second on the list of leading American riders of 1922 and is exceeded by Chick Lang by only a small margin. Before the close of this year many declare that Fator will be perched at the top. Another first flight rider is the apprentice W. Pool. This boy was a sensation in Kentucky during the fall and at the Tijuana meeting will do tha riding for the Colonel R. L. Baker stable. Jockey Albert Claver, from his peculiar posture on the back of a thoroughbred, is ki.o-.vn as deep-sitting. Claver will ride the hov.-s which Commander J. K. L. Ross is racing here this winter. Already Claver has estab-i lished himself as a keen judge of pace over !a long distance of ground and doubtless will J prove formidable to any jockey who hook3 I up with him in a long route race. The real veteran of them is John Singlc-jton. This grand old man of the saddle sotms to have taken his second lease on riding. He began his chosen vocation twenty-sown years ago and, despite his age of forty-one, j he still retains much youthfulness. This was demonstrated last summer when he had a remarkably good measure of success in Canada. The complete list of riders grated licenses at Tijuana follows: Atwell, Orson. .Turrell, Wilfre.l Anderson, Frank. Jenkins, V. Anderson, R. M. Millerick, M. Bower, H. B. Molters, H. Buel, C.
