OPPORTUNITY AT TIJUANA SAN DIEGO, Cal., December 12. The table of the leading riders of America for this year affords interesting testimony of the possibilities open to jockeys at. Tijuana, where a long race meeting is being conducted by J. W. Coffroth. Though this is the last month of the. year and the present Tijuana meeting is but a few days old, boys who came to the front here last winter are second and third in the list of successful riders since the first of January, M. Fator and Terry Wilson being led only by "Chick" Lang, the little Canadian lad who was developed by James Arthur. Jack Huntamer, who was the most successful of the riders at Tijuana last winter, has ridden only a few times since his injury last spring, yet is still surpassed in the records of the year by only five riders on the continent. The Tijuana stewards refused the application of Charles Whyte for a trainers license, and that of R. Jarboe for a jockeys ticket. Not a few prospective applicants for riding licenses were advised not to ask for what would not be granted. The privilege of riding or training at Tijuana is meant to be regarded as a privilege and will not be extended to those who do not show a proper appreciation of it.
