TURFMENS WAR MEMORIAL The war memorial at Chantilly, recent y unveiled by Marshal Joffre, bears the nams of Alec Garter, Jacques Bara son of tha trainer, Henri Hardy brother of tha jockey, Cyrille Carter brother of Percy Carter, Marcel Esling, Gabriel Esling, Davi I Hicks, George Hicks, Charles Lynham, Gerald Batchelor son of the trainer, Robert Arnott, and Lawrence Spencer, all of whom mada the supreme sacrifice.
