ORIGIN OF WORD STALLION The origin of the word stallion is inter ¬ esting Mares and entire horses ran together on the common lands in England and created BO much confusion that a law was passed ordering male horses to be kept in bounds and tied In stalls whence the name stallion or stalled one was applied to the entire horse
