LET CONTRACT FOR STABLES Tri State Fair and Racing Asso ¬ ciation to Begin Work at Ashland March 1 LEXINGTON Ky January 18 The Tri State Fair and Racing Association today awarded to John Hendricks of Lexington the contract for building twentytwo stables and a community dining room at its new plant near Ashland Ky KyThe The cost of this construction will be ap ¬ proximately 100CUO The stables will have 504 stalls and 104 rooms Construction is to begin March 1 and to be completed by June 15 15Tom Tom Brown who for several years has been doing the starting at minor meetings writes from Cuba that he is hopeful of getting the position of starter on the Ken ¬ tucky tracks this year This matter has not been definitely settled but Colonel M J Winn stated wlum at the meeting of the State Racing Commission here this week that he is inclined to divide the work between Messrs William Snyder and William Ham ¬ ilton who were A U Dades capable assist ¬ ants and who are now officiating at the Fair Grounds track in New Orleans The impression is that whoever is selected as starter for Louisville and Latonia will also be starter at tre Lexington Ashland and Henderson tracks tracksJ J H Nichols lias opened a public training stable at the Kentucky Association track and expects to get a halfdozen horses shortly
