JAMES D. set the early pace and raced for- wardly and persistently to the end. and although tiring saved third place. STIRRUPS ran well and finished gamely. PUEBLO was in trouble early and finished fast for third place. Col/KNEL MATT propped as the barrier arose and closed a great gap. DOUBLE VAN also made up much ground.
