APPELLATE took the lead at once and, making the pace fast, drew away after rounding the far turn, but was tiring in the stretch and just lasted long enough to win. GOLDMAWR worked his way up on the outside and finished fast and gamely. WAMPEE saved ground on the stretch turn and finished with a rush. FAST MACK ran well, but tired in the stretch.
