WOODBINE PARK FIGURES Total of 26,920 Distributed During Seven Days of Bacing Ross Largest Money Winner. Racing; under the jurisdiction of the Canadian Racing Associations came to an end for the year 1923 when "Woodbine Park closed its gates Saturday, Sept 29. The autumn meeting; of the Ontario Jockey Club was conducted on the usual high plane always maintained by that noted organization. During the seven days of racing 26,920 was distributed in stakes and purses, the daily average amounting to 8,131. The fine collection of horses racing for Commander J. K. L., Ross were in tiptop form and carried off the lions share of the prizes, accounting for nine races and 7,875, thereby placing the name of the Montreal turfman at the top of the list of money-winning owners taking part in the meeting. Fred Musante, chiefly because of the prowess of his good mare My Dear, is second on the list with the Greentree Stable next in order. With two smashing victories in the Toronto Autumn Cup and the Ontario Jockey Club Cup, the most valuable of the great array of stake races run at the meeting, gallant My Dear leads the money-winning horses.
