FLORENCE B. WALKER gradually improved her position while on the inside and outgaraed FAUSTO in the final drive. EAST INDIAN was saved under rsetraint for the first half mile, then came fast on the outside after rounding the last turn and followed SILENT KING closely until in the last sixteenth, where lie challenged and won drawing clear. SILENT KING, close up from the start, tock the lead with a rusl while rounding the last turn and held it gamely for a time when challenged, but was unable to withstand the winners rush. BILLY WATTS took third place quickly and maintained his position all the way, BEBSAGLIERE set a good pace to the far turn, but pulled up decidedly lame. Won driving; second and third the same. HIGH CHIEF was a forward contender from the start and, being forced widt when entering the stretch, lost ground, but recovered rapidly and, finishing fast, headed STOCKMAR anc was drawing clear in the last strides. STOCKMAR set a fast pace under slight restraint in the earlj running, but tired badly in the last sixteenth. COEUR DE LION moved up gamely in the stretch, bul tired in the final drive. CAVEAT EMPTOR showed speed, but also tired in the last eighth. WILDRAKI reared up when at the start and was practically left at the post. AGGRAVATING PAPA raced next to the rail all the way and made a game finish, but could not quit get up to win. BELCIJOSS was prominent all the way and finished close up. MITAU finished gamely. TOLIMA raced on the outside cf the leader all the way and swerved in slightly in the last seventy yards or she would have been second.- SUN MAIDEN was in tight quarters through the stretch and Brunner was forced to ease her up in the closing strides.
