Won easily; second and third driving. WITHOUT, away well, passed DUNOON after going the first quarter and, racing into a long lead, won casing up. STAGE STAR began slowly, but worked her way up gamely on the inside and made a fast finish. LA VAGUE ran well and finished gamely on the cutside. DUNOON set the pace briefly and quit. ROSA YETA began slowly, but improved her position rapidly while racing on the extreme outside and, finishing with a belated rush, won easing up. QUINHAM was forced to come wide at the head of the stretch and lost ground, but came again and outgamed SEA-WOLF. The latter set. a good pace, but tired "in the final drive. THE JJENIAN raced Into second place and tired in the last eighth. BRAMTON waa prominent in the early racing. Scratched 73350 Ashburton, 100. HAIDEE set a good pace from the start and saved ground where possible, but was tiring badly at the end and just lasted to outfinish INSULATE. The latter met with repeated interference and waa sharply pinched off by BONFIRE on the turn out of the backstretch, but came with a rush in the stretch and would have won in a few more strides. BONFIRE began slowly and was rushed up on the outside and tired from his early efforts. COL. WHALLEN was in close quarters at the half-mile post and finished fast. METAL showed speed. THIMBLE, suddenly improved, was outrun for the first half, but gained steadily and. coming on the outside in the stretch, finished with a rush and won going away. SUN THISTLE raced forwardly all the way and finished gamely. BICllEART passed WRACK GRASS and totk a good lead, but tired in the final drive SIMOON finished fast. HILDUR, away well, was sharply pinched off when he attempted to get through on the inside at the half-mile post, but slipped through on the inside on the stretch turn and, taking the lead, stood a hard drive gamely and outfinished SILK TASSEL in the final drive. The latter set a fast pace and made, a resolute finish. REPARATION finished with a rush on the outside and would have won in a few more strides. TRANSOM ran well and finished close up. PIETRUS ran a good race. WHALEBONE ran well. CAMOUFLAGE quit. SEA SAND forced a fast pace, but quit badly in the stretch. BASTILLE set a good pace under mild lestraint and made a game finish fcr second place. LITTLE AMMIE raced well, but tired in the final eighth. "ROYAL DUCK was on the outside for most of the race and could never get up. LADY LILLIAN was always outrun. VITAMIN quit. Overweights Lady Lillian, 2 pounds.
