Start good and slow for all but HUMBOLDT. Won easily; second and third driving. INSULATE, clear of interference, set the early pace and after being passed was saved to the last turn, then rushed into the lead and wen easing up. MAY-BUDDY closed a gap and finished resolutely. SIMOON was in close quarters close to the inner rail most ot the way and tired after taking the lead. WEST PITTSTON closed a big gap. EVELYN SAWYER tired badly. VANDERBURG showed early speed. IDLE THOUGHTS, away well, took the lead quickly and setting a good pace came in the going in the stretch and won in a canter. ROMAN GIRL finished resolutely and outgamed NEPTUNE in the final strides. The latter was alway prcminent, but tired right at the end. FEHRAH had no mishaps. NO LADY closed a big gap. NORMANA began very slowly and improved her position next to the inner rail, but quit in the last eighth. SPEAR SHOT ran a good half. BYRON ran pocrly. WHALEN, in close pursuit of the leaders in the early running, improved his position quickly when called on and, taking the" lead, stocd a hard drive gamely and held ROUEN safe in the t:nal drive. The latter, away slowly, closed "a big gap, but tired in the final drive. NORTH WALES made up ground and finished gamely. STAUNCH had no mishaps. The latter worked his way up rapidly after going a mile and, finishing resolutely, made a threatening rush in the last sixteenth, but the winner held him safe. OLD WELBOURNE ran well, but tired in the final drive. IRISH PAT ran a game race. SMARTY failed to stay the route and quit badly.
