ALTAWOODS PROWESS Looms Up More Promising With Each Succeeding Race. I. Parke Again Pilots Three Winners, but Is Suspended for Ten Days for Rough Riding. LATONIA, Ky., Oct. 31. C. B. Heads Altawood is beginning to loom up as more promising with each performance in long distance races that he engages in, and this afternoon added extensively to his reputation by beating some highly considered juveniles at a mile. His margin of victory might not have been as great had Garner on King Gorin II. used better judgment of picking the better part of going and not been kept in close quarters during the stretch run. Bourbon Boy, ridden by Parke, finished in third place. Garner attached blame to Parke for King Gcrin II.s failure and complained to the stewards after the race that Parke had intentionally kept King Gorin II. in close quarters during the drive through the stretch. For this offense Parke was suspended five additional days to the five day suspension he had already incurred as a result of rough riding in a preceding race. Altawood was far out of it in the first three-quarters, but he came around the others just before reaching the stretch turn and steadily wore down Bourbon Boy and King Gorin II., which were fighting it out strenuously. King Gorin II. managed to outstay Bourbon Boy by a nose. ITEW RIDING STAB. Another riding star rose on the horizon this afternoon and in a riding duel of the most brilliant style and absorbing vast interest of the close observers Eric Blind, recently signed up by the E. R. Bradley stable, did not suffer; in fact, he "put it all over" Parke in their battle of wits as well astride Certain and Blind on Triumph. Both came away from the others about the same time. Certain slightly in the van, but Triumph responded to the strenuous urging of his rider. Parke sensed the danger about an eighth out and began "boring" out with a view to forcing Triumph to change stride. In his effort at this Certain bumped sharply against Triumph, but Blind was unmindful of Parkes roughing and continued to ply whip and heel to his mount Triumph again was bumped a sixteenth out, but, like his rider, determined to overcome the obstables, and in the final strenuous struggle that ensued Triumph beat home Certain by a nose. The stewards, following the race, suspended Parke for five days. The added punishment lie received for interfering with King Gorin II. makes his suspension ten days in all. Crisp but clear weather was the rule this afternoon and it brought to the course a generously large attendance. Track conditions were severe and suited only to the most sturdy type of mud performers. TRACK IX BAD CONDITION. Some of the racing was close and winners uncertain until the last strides. The going had much to do with the uncertainty of results. Some horses would be leading a sixteenth from the finish, but suddenly would tire to an almost exhaustive stage in the last few strides. This was the case of The Runt in the opening race, which looked to have the purse at his mercy seventy yards from the finish, but suddenly let down and it enabled Arabis to win by a small margin. Dernier Sou was a pronounced choice in the second race and he won under restraint after he had blundered several times during the early part of the race. Cash, showing much improved form over his preceding start, landed in second place. Mose Goldblatts colors were carried to victory in the third race when his Antonia, under Parkes hustling tactics, got up to win by a neck from Macbeth, with Kings-clere in third place. Golden Floss was heavily backed here and might have won, but Garner showed an amateurish effort on him. Sister Flo had to be much the best in the sixth to outstay Randel, the Respess filly managing to just win. Pevic kept taking her back, but finally found a clear course when he took her around the leaders at the stretch turn and managed to stall off Ran-dels rush in the last sixteenth. The Leopard finished in third place. Tho concluding race brought to the post some good platers to race at a mile and a quarter and it enabled Parke to land Wild Life his third winner of the afternoon, having previously scored with Dernier Sou and Antonia. It took his best effort to get home in front of Lord "Wrack and the fast gaining Pumps. Jockey E. Blind, who recently arrived from Reno and is under contract to E. R. Bradley, had hi3 first mount this afternoon. He Is said to be a highly promising youngster;
