PHENOMENAL PERFORMANCE Epinards Race in the Cambridgeshire Referred to in Hih Terms. TORONTO, Ont, Nov. 7. H. J. P. Good, the veteran authority on turf matters in Canada, and who has taken a keen interest in the breeding of thoroughbreds in the province of Ontario, refers to the Cambridgeshire Stake race as a phenomenal performance for Epinard. He says: When it is considered that the top weight ever carried to victory in the Cambridgeshire was 127 pounds by a four-year-old and that the average weight in twenty years of winners has only been 98 pounds, taking three-year-olds, four-year-olds and six-year-olds together five-year-olds seldom win, the performance of the French horse, a three-year-old carrying 128 pounds, in being beaten only a neck by a four-year-old with eighteen pounds less in the saddle, must be regarded as nothing short of phenomenal."
