ABU BEN AHDEM began slowly, but was rushed into forward contention and, coming fast oa the outside of SUPPLIANT In the stretch, won in the last stride. The latter raced to the front on the last turn, but tired badly when the winner challenged. STONY POINT set the early pace, but tired in the stretch drive. SLEDGE showed speed. HEIR-AT-LAW ran well. Won easily; second and third driving SEA MASTER was saved for the first mile and a half and, gaining gradually when called on, wore HUONORA down when going to the final jump and drew away into a good lead oa the flat. HUONORA passed CHUCKLE easily in the last turn of the field and raced into a long lead, but tared badly in the last half mile. BRIGANNA was allowed to drop too far back in the first mile and closed up steadily in the last half, but could not overhaul the two leaders. FLYING FROG almost unseated his rider at the eighth Jump. BECK quit badly. CHUCKLE ran well for two miles. DANDY broke a leg. VOX POPULI II. lest his rider at the fifteenth jump. Scratched 74891 Crest Hill, 137. Won driving; second and third the same TIME EXPOSURE went to his knees at the start, but worked his way up on the outside and, passing the leaders with a rush, saved ground on the last turn, but had to be hard ridden to withstand SUNM VGNE and had grabbed his quarter at some time in the race. SUNMAGNE ran a good race and finished resolutely. BATER UP raced forwardly all the way. SKIRMISHER prominent all the way, was interfered with when SUNMAGNE bumped him at the eighth post. JACQUELINE JULIAN finished fast. ADVOCATE showed the most early speed, but quit when challenged. FAITH could not extend herself in the going. . REPARATION, showing marked improvement, set a fast pace for the going and withstood repeated challenge from GOLDEN RULE and drew away decisively in the final eighth. The latter .raced closest pursuit and made a threatening rush at the head of the stretch, but tired near the finish. TRANSOM raced gamely, but was always outpaced. SUNSINI could never get up. MISS SMITH, away well and next to the inside rail for most of the race, appeared beaten on the far turn, but came cn the outside at the head of the stretch and, finishing fast, and gamely, wore the leaders down and won in a closely contested finish. SETTING SUN raced into the lead with excellent speed, hut tired after getting to the front, FAIR GAIN began slowly, but closed a gap and finished fast. BLAZES forced the early pace, but quit in the final drive. PEDDLER showed the most speed to the stretch and tired badly. The latter responded gamely to hard riding, but tired after racing into the lead. DUCKS AND DRAKES closed a big gap. MAJORITY ran well. CAMOUFLAGE set a gocd pace, but tired badly in the stretch.
