ARCH HATCHETT IS DEAD NEW ORLEANS. La., Jan. 24. Word was received of the death of Arch Jlatchett, an old-time trainer who at one time raced a pretentious string in the West. Among the horses he had in his charge that were frequent winners on St. Louis tracks were Ed Gartland, Nick Carter and Texas Girl. Nick Carter beat the speedy OConnell in a sensational finish at St. Louis. Mr. Hatchett died at his home in Taylorville, 111. lie was SO years old.
