BASCH was outrun for the first quarter, but worked his way up on the, outside and, finishing with a rush, won going away. SCAMPER raced on the outside in the good going all the way, and took a gcod lead, but tired. PONCE ran well and outtinished GLABELLA in the final drive. GEORGIA MAY took the lead at once and, drawing away in the early racing, was kept in the best going all the way, but tired In the last sixteenth. RUTH WEIILH finished well in the middle of the track, but tired in the final strides. SUZUKI ran well throughout. RIPOSTA was much used in racing HUGHIE into defeat and tired. OLD ROSE, kept in the good going, was taken to the outside when entering the stretch and, finishing with a rush, wore PHELAN down and won drawing clear. The latter swerved into the deep going in the last sixteenth after taking a long lead. Grandson was far back in the early racing, but moved up rapidly after entering the stretch and, swerving over to the inside in the stretch run, finished in the deep going.
