EXTERMINATOR WITHDRAWN Great Gelding Lame in Gallop and Is Excused From Starting as Precautionary Measure. SAN DIEGO, Cal., Feb. 29. Much regret-was expressed today that it was necessary, for the judges this morning to excuse Ex- terminator from his scheduled appearance in a ,000 handicap at three-quarters at Tijuana this afternocn. In this handicap Exterminator was to have met Osprey, each to carry 130 pounds. After being galloped this morning Henry McDaniel, trainer of Exterminator, owned by Willis Sharpe Kilmer, noticed a little soreness in the horses legs. The trainer thought at first that a left front plate was too tight, but when this was removed for resetting the lameness did not leave Exterminator. Veterinarians pronounced the soreness of a trifling nature, being of only temporary moment, and they say that it should in no way impair Exterminators ability in his stake engagements or any handicaps in which he may be entered within the next ten days.
