SUNDAY AT THE DOWNS . Wise Counsellor, Worthmore, King Gorin II. Seen Under Colors. . Part of Audley Farm Stable Arrives Another Consignment Coming From Virginia. 6 LOUISVILLE, Ky., March 10. Derby eligibles in training at Churchill Downs showed in gallops Sunday that they have been kept at it during the winter months. John S. Ward had out his pair of Derby candidates-on the main course early Sunday morning. After a jog of a mile or more, a "set" comprising Wise Counsellor, Worthmore, Bear Grass and other three-year-olds were asked, to go for a mile and finish up in faster time than usual for the last three-eighths of the journey. Wise Counsellor, Bear Grass and Worthmore were timed in 1:42Vand. Bear Grass was the lead colt in the "set," but when the boy on Wise Counsellor let him go he could not restrain the son of Mentor and he went on to finish a length or two in front of Worthmore. This was the first time this year these colts have been asked to go fast and all seemed eager to run. Peter Coyne also had out a band of three-year-olds and older horses which he galloped. This bunch included IfCing Gorin II., Pindar Peel, Bourbon Boy, Rambler and Batch O Grass. King Gorin II. and Bourbon Boy are popular Derby eligibles and they galloped three eighths of a mile in 40 2-5, much faster than the Ward pair, without hardly blowing1 a long breath. Mack Garner had a "leg up" on King Gorin II., which led the van. King Gorin II. is thriving on his Derby preparation. "He picked up a hundred pounds in the last three weeks," said the veteran, jockey Aubuchon, "and I never saw a colt doing better. Bourbon Boy is another colt which looks good and indicates he is goings to make a useful racer this year."
