BUYS JOHN PAUL JONES H. D. Brown Pays ,000 for Son of Tracery To Place Him at Head of His California Stud. NEW ORLEANS, La., March 21. F. M. Kelly, acting for II. D. Brown, has purchased the six-year-old horse, John Paul Jones, from W. Fen wick for a reported price of ,000. The horse has been shipped to Tijuana at which track he is to be campaigned as well as at the spring meeting at Tanforan. Kelly states that Mr. Brown purchased the horse with a view of installing him at the head of his Shasta Stock Farm in California. It is the intention to race John Paul Jones three times or more at Tijuana and Tanforan in order to comply with Jockey Club rules and change the name of the horse when he is retired to the stud. John Paul Jones is a son of Tracery Moneta III., by Spearmint.
