ENGLISH PARSONS WISDOM Canon A. D. R. Little, the vicar of Blackpool, speaking on the subject of "What Is Gambling?" to a largely-attended mens service at Blackpool, said there was something wrong with the moral sense of a community which received with open arms the gambler on the Stock Exchange, admitted him to the best society, and elected him as sidesman or warden in the church, and at the same time ostracized the bookmaker on the race course, who offered odds to his clients and paid his debts with scrupulous fairness.
