BELMONT TRAINING NOTES Untidy and St. James Among the Horses Seen — Barrier Education in Two -Year-Olds. NEW YORK, N. T., April 5.— Although the weather was perfect for training operations ac Belmont Park Saturday, morning, track conditions were such that no really fast gallops could be attempted. The main course was closed during the early hours and practically all the work that was done was Confined to the training track. The Greentree Stables Untidy, which is being pointed for the Dixie Handicap was sent a slow five-eighths in 1:09. Other horses from the stable were cantered at shorter distances. St. James. George D. Wideners Preakness and Derby candidate, worked five-eighths at an easy gait, finishing the distance in 1:0S%. The three-year-old fillies from the "Widener Stable, Parasol, Anticipation, Radiancy and Salacia, went a similar distance in 1 :0S. T. J. Healey had a dozen horses out for tiaining at the barrier. He sent the juveniles from the barrier for sharp quarters, end the older horses were sent half a mile. Carroll Shilling waited with the Gifford A. Cochran horses until later in the morning when the main course was opened to training. He warmed the horses up on the training track and then sent them over to the main course for their gallops. Revenue Agent and Sun Flag were sent an easy mile in 1 :52. This performance was matched by Sunspero and Spic and Span, while Nellie Kelly galloped three-ouarters in 1:19. While Thomas Welsh was schooling a band of the J. E. Widener two-year-olds at the barrier, starter Mars Cassidy arrived at the track. He saw the Welsh charges at their schooling. They were well behaved. » . ,
