PRESENTS DERBY TROPHY LOUISVILLE, Ky., May 17— Col. EL C. Whitehead of the United States Army, presented the ,000 gold cup. In a brief and happily phrased speech, he said: "1 am Indebted to the management of the Kentucky Jockey Club for the opportunity to present to you this beautiful and costly souvenir, so worthily won by the swift and courageous thoroughbred that bore your colors in the great race we have just witnessed. It is a golden anniversary in name and in tact, because around the Kentucky Derby clusters rich and prioetem memories of proud names and floet horses that stand high on the American turfs brightest roll of honor."
