May 29.— The new auctioneer of the Fasjg-Tipton company is Samuel H. Nuckots, one of the stewards of the Kentucky Jockey Club and presiding Steward of the winter racing of the Havana .iock.y Club at Oriental Lark. Havana. Announcement of the appointment of Mr. Xuekols to the post vacated last fall by George Lain was made recently bv F. j. Tranter. 1 resident of the Fasig-Tipton company after receiving a letter from Mr. Xuekols announcing his acceptance of the Fasig-Tiptoa companys terms. .Mr. Xuekols has bad wide experience as a real estate and horse auctioneer in the west. but has not yet appeared on the block in the east. His first sale here will be the Belmont Lark vendue of May :J1 when the Fasig-Tipton company will sell a consign-menl of the Sanford stable made up of Honfleur, Louverne, Bscapader, Redskin, Stokade, Lockerbie, Portova, Canoga, Tiber, Satanta, Youthful and Metrodore and contributions from the stables of .Joseph L. Wiil.ier. George d. Widener and others. Of attractive presence and unusual magnetism, Mr. Xuekols possesses a thorough knowledge of breeding and thoroughbred history. He owes the esteem in which ha is held by the producers of Virginia, Maryland and Kentucky as well as by horsemen the continent over to his fairness and unflinching honesty. In addition to serving as one of the board stewards of the Kentucky Jockey Club and presiding at Oriental Lark, lie has served at Devonshire Lark in Canada and at Xevv Orleans. Leginning in 1910 he was nine years secretary of the Kentucky Lacing Commission. He resigned that post to b-ossne a steward of the Kentucky Jockey Club. Mr. Xuekols biggest job this year will be conducting the yearling sales of the Fasig-Tipton company at Saratoga in August. He will have 461 to 510 budding racers that will probably bring between . 000, 000 and . ,".01.000 to auction off. — — a 1
