I | — i ; : BASHFORD MANOR STAKES TODAY LOUISVILLE, Ky, May 29. -Attracting the best field of two-year-olds since the inauguration of racing in Kentucky this year, the Bashford Manor Stakes, at four and one-half furlongs, the 15,000 added feature at Churchill Downs Decoration Day, provides a splendid holiday attraction and should offer a fine contest. Nine highly regarded 1 two year-old colts and geldings have been named to struggle for the prize, which last year was taken by Black Gold and which victory proved the first step of that now famous celts onward march to turf fame and distinction. Included in this years list of starters is Williams Bros. Reputation, conceded to be the two-year-old western champion so far shown. There is a wealth of good material in the remainder of the list of starters. I The Bashford Manor is not the only attraction of a stellar nature at Churchill j Downs Friday afternoon, as the Memorial Day Handicap, for the mature horses and at • one mile and a sixteenth, is down for decision.
