McLeans Modest had his final trial for the Belmont Stakes, to be run Saturday, and he finished out a mile and a quarter in 2:11%, which was a decidedly impressive performance considering the track conditions. The fractions were: :24%, :49%, 1:14%, 1 :401i and 2:11%. j
