MAIN RACE TO WILL LAND Shows Return to Best Form in Scoring at Windsor. Dustproof Beats Brilliant Jester Foolscap In Narrowly Achieved Triumph. 1 WINDSOR, Ont, August 22. "Will Land won the best of an ordinary card of seven races on the program of the "Windsor Jockey Club for the fourth, day of the meeting:. It was the Ford City, an allowance dash, at five and a half furlongs. Sweep By finished second to F. Musantes gelding. Lathrop was third. Captain Haney, Speedy Girl and Amor Patriae also ran. In winning Will Land showed the good form that was his before his last start. In that race he was shuffled back immediately after the start and not persevered with. Liebgold had the mount on the sen of Black Toney today. The start was delayed ten minutes by the antics cf Lathrop, Speedy Girl and Amor Patriae. Speedy Girl was off first in a start made ragged by the waywardness of Lathrop. Will Land was second and followed Speedy Girl under intelligent restraint until straightened out. Then Liebgold called on Will Land. He drew away easily, winning by two lengths. A length separated the rapidly closing Sweep By from Lathrop. Sultry weather and a fast track prevailed for the racing this afternoon. The crowd numbered a little less than 4,500. Foolscap gained steadily around the turn assumed a contending position in the stretch and won the first race by half a length from Norwester. The latter was in front from the beginning of the far turn until collared by the winner in the final sixteenth. Head Line finished third. Foolscap carried the colors of H. S. Hart to victory. POLYNESIA HOME FIBST. Polynesia was drawing clear of Redskin at the end of the three-quarters of the second. The latter made all the pace but tired In the final sixteenth. The winner which ran in the silks of George Pease was always close to the pace. It was the first time she had run since the New Yorker claimed her from W. L. Drake a few days ago. Seclusion finished third. L. Lang rode the winner. Dustproof saved ground around the second turn in the third race and thereby moved into a contending position behind Brilliant Jester, which quit in the stretch and left Dnstproof with a lead of one length at the end of a mile and a sixteenth. Abel had the leg on Dustproof. Telescope showed speed all the way and held on for third money. Bruneth beat a handy band of two-year-old platers at five and a half -furlongs in the fifth encounter. She carried the silks of J. C. IVaters and was ridden by Pete Walls. Cleg finished second and Subtle third. The latter made pace into the stretch, with Cleg in closest attendance. Bruneth meanwhile was working her way around the outside and won going away by two lengths. DOUBLE FOB, L. LANG. June Fly came from fourth position to first In the stretch run of the sixth and won by a length from The Gaff, which had made the pace from the turn into the backstretch. Cautious showed the way for The Gaff to the rear stretch and followed him closest after lie took the lead, holding on for third money. The race was at a mile and a sixteenth. L. Lang, in the silks of A. J. Sansome, rode the "winner, his second of the day. Condition books for the Dorval meeting arrived today. L. G. Bedwell brought the division of the Kenton Stable that has been racing at Hawthorne here today. He will take some of the establishments horses to Ottawa. The remainder will be raced at Kenilworth by H. G. BedvvelL C. B. Shafer will have representation at the Connauglit Park meeting. Fred Richard returned to Montreal. He was here for the Canadian Racing Association meeting. J. W. Pangle came from Saratoga with the liorses Woodlake, Tango and Semper. J. H. Hubbell brought Gay Aris from Saratoga. The leading Canadian stables will lend their support to the meeting at Ottawa, Among the number are J. K. L. Ross, the Beagram Stable and the Thorncliffe Stable. During the running of the third race Brilliant Jesters bit broke in two in the center. The Seagram Stables horse was piloted the last five and a half furlongs by Pete Walls with the damaged equipment and finished second.
