FOOLSCAP gained steadily around the last turn and, heading XORWESTER in the final sixteenth, won drawing clear. NORWESTER showed mucli speed, but tired slightly near the end. HEAD LINE ran a game race. PICTIN could not get up and swerved out, as usual, in the stretch. BUTTON BRIGHT ran green and so did MARATHONIAN. BEZZEM began slowly. REDSKIN showed the most speed and set a fast pace, but tired when challenged. SECLUSION raced well and finished gamely. PHIL MAYERS finished fast after being outrun to the stretch. BRILLIANT JESTER went to the front easily and set a fast pace, but tired when challenged. TELESCOPE set the early pace, then raced close up, but could not improve his position in the stretch drive.
