SARATOGA TURF NOTES SARATOGA SPRINGS, N. Y., Aug. 22. S. N. Holman was an arrival from the middle west John E. Madden, at private terms, sold the two-year-old Sanford to Larry Waterbury. Silas Veitch, who was seriously ill at a hospital in Baltimore, was a visitor the first time today. J. O. Keene shipped the four yearlings he purchased here to Lexington, Ky. Those that were purchased by T. J. Pendergast were also shipped to the Blue Grass state. Following the running of the third race, the Glen Riddle Farms American Flag worked three-quarters in 1:13, the half mile being covered in :47. The work is part of his preparation for the Hopeful Stakes. Louis Angevine, who is here in behalf of the Blue Bonnets fall meeting, reports that the stable of R, I. Miller would be shipped to that point James Healy, Sr., will also race there with several, the property of Mrs. F. Ambrose Clark and F. M. Alger of Detroit. The stakes to be decided at that meeting close Saturday.
