: LEADING AMERICAN JOCKEYS Johnny Maiben, who has been riding in sensational form over the New York tracks all summer, was high nian last week with eight victories, bringing his total for the year up to 80. Pete Walls also figured prominently with seven winners, thereby giving the Ross contract jockey third place on the list of the thirty leaders. Walls total is now 104 and he is the third of our riders to pass the century mark this year, I. Parke and J. Wallace being the other two. H. Paden, with six, and W.
