PAYS ,000 FOR THE RUNT CINCINNATI, Ohio, Sept. 8. The good three-year-old, The Runt, winner of seven races at Hawthorne, in the colors of M. Shap-off, is back again in the stable of his original owner, Ike Weil, and is a recent arrival from Chicago, together with Tip Toe Inn and Will Wells, also the property of Mr. Weil. The latter has arranged for Lon Jones to handle the three horses. The Runt has a record this year of finishing in the money twelve times in fifteen starts. Weil lost the horse at the last Latonia meeting when Henius and Earl claimed him for ,200 and subsequently he was claimed by M. Shapoff for ,500. Mr. Weil stated today that he paid Shapoff ,000 to get the horse back.
