Won easily; second and third driving. REAR GRASS raced well all the way and, moving up. resolutely in the stretch, finished with a rush and, passing the leaders, was going away at the end. ST. ALLAN raced forwardly under restraint and finished gamely. JYNTEE raced well from the start, but tired badly in the final eighth. LADY ROSS sprinted into a long lead, but tired badly in the final eighth. ANTICIPATION ran a good race all the way. CARMEN PANTAGES began in a tangle and was knocked off her stride. Won easily; second and third driving. CREST HILL was kept closer to the leaders than usual and, racing into the lead when called on, withstood a challenge from PECCANT and held DECISIVE safe through the final eighth. The latter was raced under restraint and, gaining steadily in the final turn of the field, finished with a rush. PECCANT made the pace for over a mile, but ran out badly on the last turn of the field and his rider was forced to fight him to keep him in the course. ADAMANT raced well for the entire way. Won driving; second and third the same. SENALADO was badly outrun for the first half, but saved much ground when entering the stretch and, finishing fast, outgamed SARZANA in the final strides. The latter showed the most speed from the start, but was forced wide on the stretch turn and tired in the final drive. FINLAND began quickly, but forced the leaders wide on the stretch turn and tired at the end. FLAGSHIP was forced to race wide all the way. EDISTO had no mishaps. Won handily; second and third driving. SPOT CASH, away well, followed the leaders under restraint, then moved up swiftly in the stretch and, racing into the lead, held CHERRY PIE safe at the end. CHERRY PIE was practically left, but worked his way up steadily and, closing an immense gap, ran a fine race. WHETSTONE, a forward contender from the start, challenged at the eighth post, but tired badly in the final drive. CATALAN began slowly and ran a good race. LITTLE CHJEF had no mishaps. Won driving; second and third the same. FEYSUN, close up from the start, came fast and resolutely through the stretch after losing ground on the last turn and wore FOREST FLOWER down, to win in the last stride. FOREST FLOWER showed the most speed from the start, saved ground on all the turns, but tired right at the end. HIGH PRINCE ran a good race from the start, but tired and just lasted to save third place. FRATERNITY II. closed a big gap from a slow beginning. BUCK POND showed much early speed, but tired after taking the lead!
