Bruce Head, on his arrival at Latonia, confirmed the report that he had been made general manager of the proposed track near East St. Louis. J. F. Mr. Head stated that the construction plans have not been interrupted and that the building is going on steadily. No race meeting is in contemplation for this year, but it is intended to have a modern equipped racing rourse completed before spring and hold a meeting early next year. The steel structure for the grandstand and clubhouse has been .put in place, the track is almost graded and several stables constructed. The track is located on the Col-linsville road, a distance of approximately ten miles from St. Louis, Mo., and much of the patronage is expected from the latter point. Mr. Head is enthusiastic over the prospects of holding successful meetings at the new track.
