SUBTLE followed the leaders close up to the stretch turn, where she slipped through next to the inside rail and easily raced into a long lead. LYDIA DREW wore WINE JUG down and outgamed the latter for second place. WINE JUG showed tile most early speed, but tired. The field got caught in the barrier and in a jam which resulted.
