EPINARD OUT FOR GALLOP Frenchman Impresses Onlookers at Latonia Rivals Continue Training Preparations. LATONIA, Ky., Oct 3. Latonia work watchers sot their first glimpse of Epinard, " the French champion -when the colt -was brought out in the course early Friday morning and with jockey L. McDermott up cantered a couple of miles. The colt went along in a nice fashion and made a good impression on the onlookers. He was accompanied on his jog by Idle Girl. Ladkin was also given some light exercise for the first time since his arrival. He was permitted to jog around the course for a couple of times. The only aspirants for the International Special to be worked Friday morning were My Play, Black Gold and Chilhowee. The first named showed to good advantage when with Schuttinger Tip he ran off a mile in 1:40 and pulled up sound. Black Gold also went a mile going the distance in 1:42. He appears to have gotten over his soreness. . Chilhowee was worked three-quarters in the early morning hours but the thick fog that enveloped the course at the time prevented any time being taken. The presence of Sarazen In the International Special seems an assured fact now. General Manager Winn was notified by wire Friday morning that Max Hirsch was leaving New York with Mrs. Vanderbilts crack gelding, and also Larry "Waterburys San-ford, which is coming to start in the Queen City Handicap Saturday. Humors are current that S. C. Hildreth has decided to send both Zev and Mad Plasr after the special race, but no word of his intention has been received at the executive offices of the Kentucky Jocky Club.
