SUN TESS followed the pacemakers to the stretch turn where she was taken to the outside and, finishing with a rush, easily took the lead in the last eighth and was going away at the end. VOLANTE weakened after making the pace fast nntil well inside the final eighth. WAVECREST finished gamely and outstayed SUBURBAN in the final drive. Won easily; econd and third driving. BYNG followed SURF under restraint for a turn of the field and was racing to the front when the latter lost his rider at the seventh jump, then iook the lead and, withstanding a challenge from ROI CRAIG in the final half mile, won going away. ROI CRAIG followed the leaders closely under restraint and made a game finish, but was held safe at the end. LOLLIPOP was far back for more than a mile, then moved up threateningly on the second turn of the field, but was tiring at the end. WARRENTON had no mishaps. Scratched 83972Boatman, 149. CHINK saved ground on all the turns and got up for second place in the last stride, after overcoming slight interference near the eighth post. ALEX WOODLIFFE set a good pace to the last eighth and tired. EDISTO was in a contending position to the head of the stretch, but failed to respond when called on. CHRYSALIS lost some ground on the last turn, but finished well. BARBARA FRIETCHIE was cut off on the far turn. BONAPARTE lost ground on the first turn, but raced closely with TEN SIXTY until the latter quit and stood hard riding for the last half mile, but tired badly right at the end. TEN SIXTY set a good pace to the last eighth and tired. PRINCE OF UMBRIA was ridden wide on the turns and, Bwerving to the rail, ran into a pocket, then was taken back to the outside and finished gamely despite the mishap.
