Won easily; second and third driving. BATTLEMAN displayed high speed from the start and, setting a fast pace all the way, raced HENDRICK into defeat and wen in a canter. BILL WINFREY was bumped at the start, but steadily improved his position and finished fast. NEW HOPE was a forward contender all the way and, coming fast at the end, outstayed KUMONIN. The latter finished fast. HENDRICK quit badly in the final sixteenth. CORDON ROUGE ran well. BRIGHT IDEA was knocked sideways at the start, then wheeled and had no chance. Won driving; second and third the same. ADRIANOPLE worked his way up on the inside from a slow beginning and, finishing fast, was drawing clear at the end. WRACKLANE showed much speed from the- start and took the lead in the stretch, but tired badly. GOOD WILL raced prominently throughout. GIPSY FLYER finished well. OATIILEEN NI HOULIHAN began slowly. SWOPE "gained steadily awl, coming on the outside on the stretch turn, finished fast and outgamed DRY MOON in the final strides. DRY MOON followed the winner closely and tired at the sixteenth post, but came again under hard riding at the end. BLUE MOON saved ground on the stretch turn and finished well. PRINCE JAMES was outpaced in the early running, but improved his position while racing on the inside and outfinished REJECTION -in the final strides. REJECTION set a fast early pace, then raced in closest pursuit of the leader, but tired in the final strides. COCKNEY was in a pocket on the far turn, but could not improve his position when clear. COSTIGAN ran poorlv. IU GEL was taken up at the start, then taken wide while rounding the first turn and tired. Scratched S30132Athelstan, 115; 84325 Skyscraper, 118. Overweight Costigan, 1 pound. ETOILE DOR ran well. PETTIBOCKER showed speed. MAIBIRI was forced wide on the far turn. SANCY met witli early interference. GOLD BRICK was shuffled back at the start.
