RYAN TO HOLD PRIVATE SALE NEW YORK, N. Y., Oct. 8. Inability to secure an auctioneer for his contemplated dispersal sale on October 15 led Clendenin Ryan to abandon the plan to auction his horses, and they will be offered at private sale. Trainer John Loftus has the horses that raced in Mr. Ryans Oak Ridge colors at Belmont Park in barn number 37, where he will show them to prospective buyers at any time. Laurano, Apprehension and Idiosyncrasy are among those for sale.
