COLUMBUS JALL MEETING Sixteen Days of Racing to Be Held at Beulah Park from October 22 to November 8. COLUMBUS, Ohio, Oct. 9. General manager Harry D. Shepard of the Capital City Racing Association has released the conditions book for the first seven days of the sixteen-day fall meeting at Beulah Park, Grove City, October 22 to November 8. Racing secretary W. R. Norvall endeavored to cater to all classes , of horses, as it takes a variety to make a meeting a success from a competitive standpoint There will -be seven races daily, with purses ranging in value from ?500-to ?1,200 handicaps. The feature on the opening day will be the Beulah Park Handicap, for three-year-olds and over, at a mile and seventy yards. Applications for reservations have been coming in from Canada, Kentucky, Akron and Cleveland, and it is expected that there will be plenty of good material on hand when the fallmeeting is ushered in. John T. Ireland, steward for the Kentucky-State Racing Commission, will serve as presiding steward at Beulah Park instead of William Shelley, who will be engaged at Lexington preparing for the fall meeting there. Marshall Cassidy has been engaged to do the starting. Here follows a list of the officials: Presiding steward, John T. Ireland ; presiding judge, W. R. Norvall ; associate judge, Chester Sands ; starter, Marshall Cassidy ; clerk of the scales, W. R. Booker ; paddock judge, H. D. Monroe, and W. R. Norveli, racing secretary.
