, TWO IMPORTANT SALES LEXINGTON, Ky., Oct 9. Two important transactions in thoroughbred horses were disclosed here today. Gifford A. Cochran, of New York, became the purchaser of the stallion Under Fire, which until this morning was owned in partnership by Messrs. Patrick Dunne and William C. Goodloe and Thomas C. McDowell. He is to stand at Mr. Cochrans Shandon farm near Lexington. Messrs, Gallaher earlier in the week sold to Joseph E. Widener for his Elmendorf Stud the good mare Bourbon Lass, the dam of Chilhowee, by Bourbon Beau, and she is to be mated with Stefan the"Great-next season.
