SPECIAL AFTERMATH LATONIA, Ky., Oct 1L The handy victory of Sarazen caused a . moro firm conviction of his admirers that ho would have triumphed in the preceding , two specials had he been eligible to start in them. He was debarred by virtue of his being a gelding. "It was a wonderful race,, the. best Ive ever witnessed," was the comment of most, old time, racing men. - The French champion had no mishap " and his "splendid race confirmed the opinion of his legion of admirers that he is a great r horse.- ..... Altawood again came out of .the race a hero. Ho again gave a thrill to the big t thrqng equal to that of, the Kentucky Derby in which, like in todays race, he finished in fourth place, battling valiantly to head his rivals after he had closed an immense gap and been ridden wide. The colt is certainly a - hard luck colt Trainer Max Hirsch was supremely happy after Sarazen had triumphed. After the presentation of the handsome gold cup to Mrs. Vanderbilt, former senator J. N. Camden also functioned in making the presentation speech of the handsome split-second . watch. Epinard was brought to the paddock before the fourth race.
