EMPIRE CITY NOTES YONKERS, N. Y., Oct. 16. C. R. Aldridge claimed Honfleur from W. J. Booth following the running of the first race for ,300. Robert S. Eddy, Jr., will remain here for some time and will accept applications for stable accommodations at Jefferson Park at the winter meeting, which opens on Thanksgiving Day. Mr. Eddy received a wire from Richard Leigh Thursday informing him that the New Orleans Business Mens Racing Association would hang up a 5,000 added stake at the fair grounds, to be decided February 21. This, with the 517,500 Louisiana Derby at the Jefferson Park track, will lend an altogether new importance to the racing at New Orleans during the winter. Beyond the fact that this 5,000 prize will be framed for three-year-olds and upward, Mr. Eddy was not informed on the other particulars of the prize.
