LAUREL PARK NOTES LAUREL, Md., Oct. 16. J. Maiben cancelled his engagements today becausa of stomach disorders. Banter, Soldier, True and Sweeping Away accompanied My Play from Pimlico here. S. Louis bought The Reaper from J. P. Polk for ,500. Starter Milton suspended L. Lang for three days. G. Babin returned from New York, where he went to ride Master Charlie in the Rcm-sen Handicap. Charles Houbre reported that Widgeon broke down so badly he may not be able to race again. Odd Seth is back in the barn of C. B. Shafer on reclaim from G. W. Campbell, but will be unable to start for thirty days in the Shafer colors. J. Wallace will resume riding Saturday after a three-day suspension and will leave Tuesday for Louisville to report to John L Smith, in charge of the Kentucky division of tho horses of W. S. Kilmer. Jockeys Williams, Wallace, Holmes, Taul-lele, Renzctti and J. G. Smallwood, who were set down in the wholesale suspension a few days ago, will resume riding Saturday. Howard will not get back until Tuesday. Fred Wright tomorrow will begin the erection of three patrol stands at Bowie. One will be at the entrance to the back-stretch and one at each end of the second turn.
