PHIL McCANN began well and, racing prominently from the start, lost ground on the last, turn, but finished fast and won in the last stride. SECLUSION was taken back roon after the start, but saved much ground on the turns and, finishing gamely, barely missed getting up to win. HATS UP ran a good race and finished well. DR. TANNER, close up from the start, finished gamely under hard riding and outstayed ROCKY. The latter showed a good order of speed and made a game finish. BAD LUCK saved mucli ground on the stretch turn and finished close up. BACKBITER closed an immense gap. SPECKLED BEAUTY showed the most early speed, but quit badly in the last sixteenth. PARADER raced into the lead briefly just before reaching the stretch, but gave way when challenged. TENDER SETH tired in the last eighth after showing the most speed to the stretch. ELUSIVE raced in improved form and was in closest pursuit until in the last eighth where she tired and swerved. VOLT had no mishaps. The latter raced into the lead when an eighth out, but began tiring near the end. KING GORIN II. was taken back on the firist turn and saved much ground coming info the stretch, but was held safe by the first two. QUINCE GARDEN was done after going three-quarters.
