FIRST PULLET VICTORIOUS Outgames Sleivebloom in Principal Contest at Youngstown j. Easy For San Diego. YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio,- Oct. 22. Showing good speed from the stretch J. T. Abrams First Pullet was returned victorious in tlie main race at Southern Park today. The daughter of Cock o the Walk outgamed Sleivebloom in the stretch, after racing head and head with her for a half mile. Sleivebloom just lasted to save second place from the fast finishing Castillat Stella Maris, wel! fancied, was in front going to the first turn, where she went extremely wide and was never prominent thereafter and finished last. San Diego, after racing prominently all the way, caught Service Flag in the stretch, and won the fourth race going away. Service Flag cut out a good early pace and looked to be winner at the stretch head, but could not withstand the winners challenge. Needy made up considerable ground to be third. Chandelier, the favorite, easily defeated a cheap bunch in the . opening race. The winner was under restraint from the pace for a half mile, then moved up fast and catching Margaret Atkin in the stretch, won going away. Margaret Atkin was second, with Safranor third. , , Another cheap field paraded to the post in the second, and Traviata was returned an easy winner, after being lucky to escape interference in the jam which occurred- shortly after the start in which Lariat lost his rider. Lenora P. gained steadily and was easily second, with Homam third. Monsoon, under a good ride by Woodstock, was victorious in ths third! The winner was outrun in the early stages, but saved ground all the way, got to the front in the stretch and held Josephine C. safe -at the end. The latter beat Aunt Deda by half a length for second place. It was "Woodstocks second win of the day.
